NP-AT/S AT FDDI Fiber Interface connects AT class machines to 100-MbpsFDDI local area networks (LANs). Connecting a 386/486 PC to an FDDInetwork provides the highest performance access to NFS servers.NP-AT/S AT FDDI Fiber Interface implements a Single Attach Station (SAS)interface for connection to a concentrator. It utilizes FDDI standard MICfiber optic connectors and is fully compliant with the ANSI X3T9.5 FDDIstandard.FDDI Station Management (SMT) is provided. An embedded processorimplements FDDI Connection Management (CMT), relieving the host ofrealtime requirements. Frame-based SMT is performed by the PC-NFS driver.The NP-AT/S Interface works with numerous protocols including PC-NFS,NetWare, TCP/IP, and LAN Manager.
